Note that this option must be enabled for monolog to work. Use Monologw Monologw is a software program that is bundled with Creative Labs Sound Blaster software. It is NOT included with this Caller-IDS program. If you already have, or you purchase this software, Caller-IDS can use it to announce names of incomming calls. If you intend to use MONOLOGW packaged with sound blasters sound card, the monologw software must reside in the programs default directory c:\monologw. Click on Use Monologw to enable this feature. The notifer option must be enabled for monologw to work. With this enabled, monologw will say the name that is in the record, if there isnt a wav file assigned to the record. Can we have it say the name that comes from C&P???? Pager Feature If you have enabled the global pager in the pager options, you can temporarily disable the paging by clicking on this box. Pager Number Field For each record, you can assign a different pager number. By default, the global pager number will be in this field. If an area code is not required when dialing the pager number, replace the area code with (OFF). IE: (OFF)555-1212. Click save to save the change. If you do not want a record to page, deselect the record pager enable box. Sleep Mode If you select Sleep Mode, the program will minimize and the comm port will be released. This will allow you to access the comm port with another terminal program, without having to close Caller IDS. When you deselect Sleep Mode, the program will then resume control of the comm port and send the (Modem Init String) to the modem, default = "AT" TROUBLE SHOOTING Problem - During Installation I recieved an error, "Can not copy DDEML.DLL the destination file is in use" Solution - This is not a problem, the setup program has found an installed copy of DDEML.DLL Problem - MSCOMM.VBX is an older version. Solution - Rename your mscomm.vbx to mscomm.old. This file can be found in the c:\windows\system directory. Make sure this file does not exist anywhere else. reinstall Caller-IDS. Problem - After installing Caller-IDS I get a DDE error Solution - For Norton Desk Top Users, the first time you load this program you may get a DDE error. Simply click on continue. This message will not recur again unless you re-install this program. This is caused by Nortons versions earlier than 3.0, DDE time-out. Problem - Caller-IDS program will not activate when I receive a phone call Solution - If your call is not being received by caller ids, close the program and open Windows Terminal communications program. Select from the settings menu, communications. Select the baud rate. (Zoom, Supra, practical = 9600. All other interfaces = 1200.) Select Data bits = 8, Stop bits = 1, Parity = None, Flow control = Xon/Xoff. Select the comm port your Called-ids device is on and click on OK. While you are in the terminal mode, have somebody call you that is in your calling area. This test will verify your hardware and windows software settings are correct. Problem - I get caller information in windows terminal, but not in Caller-IDS Solution - There are two areas to look at in the maximized Caller-IDS main window to see if there is any data coming from your selected comm. port. The first, look at the caller-id icon. The red circle will fill solid if the program is receiving data. The second is down at the bottom left, were it says incoming data.. Here is where the raw data will be displayed if it is being received. If neither of the above happen when you receive a call, check all you hardware and software setups to make sure you have the proper configurations, I.E.: comm. port, interface, interrupts ETC.. Problem - No caller ID information received in Terminal Mode. Solution - Do you subscribe to Caller ID service? Is your modem Caller ID compatable? Be sure you have enabled the Caller ID feature on your modem.Verify that the phone line from the wall is in the correct jack on the back of the modem. If the above doesn't help, Contact your Modem manufacture for techinacal assistance. Problem - I am using a ICC-6 Serial Interface. No Caller ID information received in Terminal Mode. Solution - Verify the power LED on the interface is on. If not, check the cable, and the Interface comm port setting, Caller IDS or a terminal program must be running to power the interface. Before Calling for techinacal assistance...
